About The Dressing Room
Welcome to my blog 'The Dressing room', please step inside :). I have to admit it took me months before I finally sat down to create my fashion/lifestyle blog and to write my first blog post. I was and still am apprehensive about starting a blog especially since its core is about fashion because there are so many great fashion bloggers out there with great voices that I feel intimidated. But at my recent graduation the final sentence of the Vote of Thanks to us the class of 2011 was, 'Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can do'. I then realized while I may not be able to be like them it should not stop me from being like me.
I know we all fantasize about having our own walk in closet so I would like to think of my blog The Dressing Room as a symbolism of that where I will post fashion reviews and all things girly. But in dressing rooms we not only find clothes and shoes and make-up we find mirrors. Mirrors which reflect ourselves as we try on different outfits, mirrors that reflect our faces, our hair, out bodies, but what the mirrors don't reflect are our thoughts, our emotions and our true self. So my first message to you in my first blog post is don't let fashion define you, don't let how others dress deflate you by comparing yourself to them rather let fashion be fun and an outlet for creativity.
I want all my readers (even if it is just one) to not compare themselves to other women. We are all different and we need to be proud of our opinions, our bodies, our achievements and obviously our fashion choices. So hug yourself and repeat after me, 'I'm a cool lady and I love myself!'.
Besides fashion my blog The Dressing Room is also a place to share secrets, hopes and dreams, all the cheesy stuff, giggles about boys and a place to spread positivity and inspiration about looking good and more importantly feeling good.
If you've managed to read so far I want you to feel obligated to wake up tomorrow morning, look in your closet and love everything that is in there, own your clothes literally and figuratively.
The Fine Print:
The above statements about fashion choices do not apply to celebrities, feel free to judge away. I know I will.
